Marji Legault is a co-founder of the Monteith-Legault Real Estate Company and has been a Real Estate Broker for over 14 years. She made the decision to pursue a career in real estate after the birth of her fifth child, Luke. She wanted to have more time to be home with him and one day her husband, John, suggested that Marji would make an excellent real estate agent. So she took the leap of faith, completed the licensing coursework and now she can’t imagine doing anything else.

Marji sees her career as an act of service, a way to improve the lives of others. She said, “I love being able to make buying or selling a home a positive experience”. There is a lot of work that goes into getting to the closing table but I always do everything I can to keep things easy and seamless for my clients.”  Marji also puts a great deal of importance on making the process of buying or selling an educational experience for her clients. She said, “I want my clients to have a strong knowledge of the process so that they can make informed, educated decisions and feel empowered.”

Some advice Marji follows is “strive to know the “real” you and don’t ever be ashamed of who you are.” She has worked hard for a life that she is proud of even though it hasn’t always been easy. Marji admits she has learned from her challenges and is inspired by her resilience and ability to make the best of every situation. She feels truly blessed by everything she has been bestoyed, has worked for and earned.

In the next ten years, Marji is looking forward to her son attending high school and college and also watching her grandchildren grow up. She said she is eager to celebrate another decade of marriage and looks forward to purchasing a home in Key West. She is also excited to grow the Monteith-Legault Real Estate Company and to continue to support the team in any way that she can.

1. Marji was a licensed fugitive recovery agent (bounty hunter) and private detective in her early 20s.
2. She has 5 children and 9 grandchildren.
3. She loves to read, especially inspiring true stories, cook and to watch her son play baseball.

Josh is the co-founder of the Monteith-Legault Real Estate Company. He began his career in real estate back in 2004 when he purchased his first investment property. From then on, Josh knew that real estate would play a big role in his life. He worked in the family business, Sound Designs Inc., from 2001-2007 and at the age of 23 during the recession of 2008, Josh decided that there was no better time to take the plunge into becoming a real estate agent. He says, “at the time, people thought I was crazy, but I was just a young naïve 23-year-old kid with big dreams and a deep desire to succeed. Fast forward 10 years, and I would say it was one of the most pivotal and best decisions of my life.”

In reflecting on his career in real estate, Josh said he is most proud of the relationships he has built and he appreciates the opportunities that he has been provided. He believes it is important to take care of the people that that care for you. He knows that there are no shortcuts to success, just patience, persistence and hard work. Also without risk, there is no reward.

So, what inspires Josh to work so hard? First and foremost, his wife and kids. He said, “they are why I push myself to be the best I can be every day.” He is also inspired by positive people and the underdog. In the next 10 years, Josh is looking forward to building the Monteith-Legault Real Estate Company into a well-recognized brand that is involved in many different facets of the industry. He would also like to become more involved in our community and sponsor local and charitable events. We look forward to helping Josh achieve these goals and are excited to see what the future holds for the company.

1. He never attended college. Entrepreneurship has always been in his blood and he has a knack for business.
2. He loves to travel with his family.
3. Basketball was his first passion.

Chris is a real estate broker with the Monteith-Legault Real Estate Company and has been a wonderful part of the team. He was the first broker that Josh and Marji added to the team and has set a high standard for all new brokers to follow. Ever since he was a child, Chris has been inspired by entrepreneurs, so he has done everything he can to educate himself and grow his business. Needless to say, he is well on his way to achieving the American Dream.

Chris said himself that he is most proud of his career, “I grew up with nothing, and have never had much of a support system in terms of family to help me or invest in me. I built my business from the ground up and worked hard to form the relationships and achieve the goals necessary to realize my dreams.” He is a self-made man and holds those who reject the conventional notation of answering to other people and make their own dreams a reality in high regard. The best advice Chris said he has ever received was this, “I don’t need to ask permission or apologize for my God-given right to earn an honest living and to support myself; especially if I am doing so by providing a valuable and needed service designed to help others.”

Chris understood very early on that he had a knack for sales and was always drawn to working with and helping people. He felt a calling to real estate because he has a close friend who has been a REALTOR® for 20 years who was always encouraging Chris to get his license. Chris also understands the value of being a REALTOR® because he knows “firsthand the importance of stable housing” and it brings him great comfort to help others obtain it.

In the next 10 years, Chris is looking forward to continuing to grow his brand and business. He said “It’s important to me to be able to look back over the span of my career and remember where I came from, to be able to express gratitude for how far I’ve come and to continue looking forward with the knowledge and experience the previous 15 years will have granted me.” We look forward to helping Chris achieve these goals and appreciate the wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm he brings to the company.

2. He won a sandcastle contest when he was 12 years old
3. He recently started to learn how to play the piano as a new hobby.
